It is now official, Sudan has been removed from the blacklist of Nations sponsoring terrorism across the world.
The country was removed by the United States of America on Monday December 14, 2020.
The move has been received in Khartoum with a lot of excitement.
This, because it unlocks the way for aid, debt relief and investment to the country going through political transition and economic hardship.
Countries will now find favour to do business with Sudan.
It will go a long way to boost the economy and the Government of Sudan is ready to take steps in the direction According to sources.
For nearly three decades, the United States has blacklisted Sudan over harbouring islamist militants.
Immediately after the decision was announced on Monday, one of the first signs of a bright future was the change in the value of the Sudanese pound, against the US Dollars, which went from 250 – 240 on the black market.
These is just one in a series of achievements expected to follow the decision removing Sudan from the blacklist of Nations sponsoring terrorism.
