The Commitment of Courts to fight against corruption have commended by the National Anti Corruption Commission (NAC). The efforts of this category of judicial institutions was highlighted by the National Anti-corruption Commission while officially presenting the 2019 report.
According to Rev. Dieudonne Massi Gams, president of the National Anti-corruption Commission, the 2019 Anti-corruption report carries the ruling of nineteen courts of all categories throughout the country. This is a landmark improvement as the Courts in previous editions have been absent.
The Anti-corruption Commission also lauded the engagement of some private institutions to fight against corruption. The report reveals that 02 public reported on the Anti-corruption activities carried out throughout 2019.
Worthy noting are private universities and private institutions of Higher Education who carried out Anti-corruption activities in 2019. They are the Protestant University of Central Africa, Université des Montagnes just to name a few.
The National Anti-corruption Commission however frowned at some public structures absent in the fight against corruption in 2019. These are the Ministry of Territorial Administration, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, local councils and the Regional Governors offices.
The National Anti-corruption Report is a publication that informs on the state of the fight against corruption in Cameroon. Published the National Anti-corruption Commission each year, the report brings together contributions of public structures, private institutions and civil society organisation in the fight against corruption. These contributions manifest each institutions efforts in implementing that National Anti-corruption Strategy.
The report also carries the activities of the National Anti-corruption Commission towards the fight against corruption as well as that of other Anti-corruption institutions like the National Financial Investigation Agency, the Public Contract Regulation Agency, the Supreme State Audit and the Court of Account of the Supreme Court.
The 2019 Anti-corruption corruption is the 19th report published by the Anti-corruption Commission since its creation.
