Campaigns for the up coming Presidential and Legislative elections in the Central African Republic has officially been Launched.
The launching was Saturday December 12, 2020.
Outgoing President, Faustin Archange Touadéra is considered as the favourite of the Presidential.
In his campaign speech to militants and supporters of his “Mouvement des Coeur Unis, MCU” party, he revisited his positive actions for the nation since he took power.
He said they have invested a lot to face the security challenges in the country which was and is still a major problem.
To President Faustin Archange Touadéra, security is gradually returning to the country thanks to a series of peace deals signed with the various armed groups.
The President expects to win a new mandate to continue the good works for the interest of the Republic.
The Elections will come up on December 27, 2020.
President Faustin Archange Touadéra, will be running along side 16 other candidates.
Former President, François Bozizé who returned to the country last year and announced his Candidacy will not be part of the election.
A top court in CAR last month rejected his Candidacy for reasons that there is a warrant of arrest looming over him.
Despite acknowledging the warrant of arrest, President Faustin Archange Touadéra and the Government have not held him behind bars since he returned from exile.
He was on exile since 2013.
